This place is amazing! Their menu was so massive! There is definitely something for everyone! My husband had a hard time deciding what he wanted and so did I! So, we ordered a variety! Their portions are sooooo big! Everything was so good! I asked my son what he wanted and let him picked and.... he picked everything too! What we ordered: Lunch portion Singapore seafood noodle Lunch portion chicken lo mein with veggies Salt and pepper pork chops (soo good!!) Orange chicken Mongolian beef Baby Bok Choy with garlic Their lunch portion is really big!!! My husband absolutely loves the sat and pepper pork chops! He even threw them in the oven for a little bit and it crisp right up!!!
I was told that this place only has two good dishes: Peking Duck and Lobster Mein. Peking Duck (whole) is $43.95, and lobster mein is around $60 (2 oz lobster and $15 for the noodle). I enjoyed the Peking Duck with the buns and will give it a B. The lobster was made fresh but I did not like the noodles that we ordered along with it as it was not really tasty for me. Given the price, I will give this fish a C+. I also ordered a cup of hot and sour soup and I did not like it so it would be a D. Parking is free on the side of the restaurant, slot 57-80 along the wall (A+). The rest of the parking lot must be paid. Staff is nice and friendly. My boyfriend joked that we had good care from the staff because we ordered too many expensive things because normally service is not that attentive. I don't know about that but I never expected great customer service from chinese restaurant anyway.
I do walk-bys here all the time; in other words, pass by it day-to-day, yr. by yr., decade by well.. I don't know when this opened, but I think in the 2000s? who freaking knows? I came here 4 the food (something says Amen in the bkgd) Master Stomach! Heyyyy! how u been? yeah I know y'all miss Master Stomach; its been M.I.A. 4 a while well Master Stomach, my wife n I enjoyed this place.. yes, prices r high n confirmed by our visit a nice, clean place, waitress can b rude but n then nice as well meaning u get Jekyll n Hyde service experience as u dine, free parking.. I guess the extra dollar or two that u pay 4 dishes goes in2 that but American Chinese dish, Egg Foo Yung tasted decent.. like 3 big patties nice n crisp Honeymoon Fried Rice/HFR (meaning half white cream n half tomato sauce on top of fried rice.. if u haven't had it, try it!) so theirs was moist n decent.. but the white sauce tasted better than 663 (another Chinese restaurant that has the best HFR) as it had a little more flavor vs. 663 has better tomato sauce.. maybe this n 663 should marry n go honeymooning 2gether 2 produce ultimate HFR baby n I'm not an egg drop soup man n haven't even heard of it.. I guess I am so Chinese/authentic or lack thereof that I haven't even heard of egg drop or Egg Foo Yung, Sub Gum until I met my wife.. that being said.. I do like me some Honey Walnut Prawns n Egg Foo Yung now.. n this place has the best.. I can't believe I said it, Egg Drop Soup
Many times I've walked by places in the ID cause the outside doesn't look inviting this is a good example of how so many places look different from the outside than the inside. This place is about a half a block up the hill from my work I've looked at the menu and have thought about getting something from here but didn't act on it till yesterday. I had salad for lunch but was looking for something hot on the chilly foggy day. They're health rating has always been excellent when I've walked by. They fortune cookie, napkin and utensils come packed in a little bag that says Piece of Cake for those who have lives in Seattle awhile and know the OH bakery that many Seattle Asians had bought cakes from. From the outside New Star is just leading into the restaurant not really any big windows or anything. Once inside there is a tank up front with live lobsters and crabs by the main counter. I selected to just order there order there online since it was so close. They lady was very friendly up front I told her I was interested in the chicken in black bean sauce lunch. It was ready very quickly. I have to save some of the freshest veggies not over cooked still had a nice crunch to them and the chicken was tender comes with rice and a fortune cookie. Nothing fancy but that's not what I was looking for. Comforting and delicious.
